Traditional Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) has a massive problem: it’s an expensive storage bill. Companies spend millions of dollars pumping high-pressure carbon dioxide gas underground, crossing their fingers that it never leaks.
What if carbon capture wasn’t a structural liability, but a highly profitable manufacturing engine?
Introducing Biogenic Sodium Silicate CCU—a breakthrough closed-loop system that transforms industrial CO2 emissions into high-value, market-ready minerals using nothing but agricultural waste and seawater. We don't hide carbon; we monetize it.
The Innovation: The Biogenic Cycle
Unlike traditional, energy-heavy synthetic silicates, our method is completely circular, utilizing two ultra-abundant, low-cost inputs:
Rice Husk Ash (RHA): An agricultural waste product packed with up to 95% amorphous silica (SiO2).
Seawater & Brine: Electrolyzed using renewable energy to produce sodium hydroxide (NaOH), even better it is also byproduct of CDI+BMED desalination.
By dissolving RHA in seawater-derived base, we extract a low-carbon, biogenic sodium silicate liquid. When this liquid comes into contact with industrial flue gas (CO2), a rapid, permanent mineralization reaction triggers instantly.
The Chemistry: Instant Mineralization
Our system bypasses the high-heat regeneration loops required by traditional amine scrubbers. We rely on a natural, exothermic chemical transformation:
Na2SiO3 (aq) + CO22(g) + H2O—> Na2CO3(aq) + SiO2(as high-purity gel)
The carbon is permanently, chemically locked. It cannot degrade, leak, or escape back into the atmosphere—even under intense heat or pressure.
The Value Proposition: One Waste In, Two Commodities Out
Every ton of CO2 scrubbed yields two distinct, high-margin, commercially highly sought-after material results:
Green Silica Gel (SiO2)
Market Applications: High-performance tire additives (green tires), advanced desiccants, catalyst carriers, and battery anode additives.
The Disruption: Replaces traditional, high-carbon synthetic silica with a fully sustainable, biogenic alternative.
2. Green Sodium Carbonate (Na2CO3)
Market Applications: Essential raw material for glass manufacturing, soaps, detergents, and chemical syntheses.
The Disruption: Allows manufacturers to radically lower their Scope 3 supply chain emissions by sourcing mineralized carbon.
Biogenic Sodium Silicate turns CO2 from an environmental tax into your next raw material pipeline. This technology is developed at www.biocom.id.
