Project Tamanu is a strategic bioenergy initiative designed to bridge the MENA region’s vast geographic advantages with Europe's surging demand for premium, compliant drop-in biofuels.

By cultivating the highly resilient Calophyllum inophyllum (Tamanu) tree on non-arable coastal desert land, we extract an oil feedstock with an unprecedented 70%+ kernel dry weight yield. Utilizing localized circular refining—where seed dregs are gasified via SEWGS and PSA technology to produce green hydrogen—we hydrotreat these native lipids into high-value Green Diesel and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

This project offers an optimized supply chain to deliver high-volume, vertically integrated, HEFA-compliant fuels directly into the European market.

1,Strategic Pillars of the Corridor

The MENA Production Advantage: Zero-Footprint Greening

  • Arid Coastal Cultivation: Tamanu is a robust halophyte that thrives in sand substrates using brackish water or seawater. It does not compete with agriculture or strain local freshwater grids.

  • National Alignment: Large-scale planting actively satisfies regional sustainability mandates, including the Saudi Green Initiative and North African anti-desertification programs, generating lucrative carbon credits from day one.

  • Unrivaled Energy Density: With a kernel oil content exceeding 70%, Tamanu yields substantially more energy per hectare than standard energy crops like soy or jatropha.

2. Autonomous Localized Refining: The Green Hydrogen Loop

  • 100% Non-Edible Feedstock: Completely bypasses Europe’s strict ethical barriers regarding "food vs. fuel" crops.

  • Self-Sustaining Processing: The engineering model uses mechanical extraction to separate the core fatty acids (Oleic, Linoleic, Palmitic, and Stearic). The remaining organic dregs are instantly gasified on-site.

  • Co-Located Hydrogen Generation: Through Sorption-Enhanced Water-Gas Shift (SEWGS) and Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA), the dregs generate a steady supply of pure Green Hydrogen.

3. The European Off-Take Blueprint: Maximizing HEFA Infrastructure

  • Advanced Technology Integration: European refineries hold the global lead in Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids (HEFA) infrastructure.

  • Regulatory Compliance: The resulting Green Diesel and SAF naturally comply with stringent EU Renewable Energy Directives (RED III) and ReFuelEU Aviation mandates.

  • Geographic Proximity: Maritime trade routes from North Africa and the Middle East provide short, low-carbon transit pipelines directly into major European energy hubs.

We are securing international consortium partners to launch development along selected MENA coastal zones. This technology is developed at www.biocom.id.
